Our Commitment to Ocean Conservation
As divers, we deeply value the ocean and understand our responsibility to protect the fragile ecosystems we explore. While tourism brings incredible opportunities for discovery and joy, it can also place pressure on coral reefs and marine life.
At BB Divers, we are committed to making a positive impact. We actively work to eliminate harmful practices such as walking on coral, feeding marine life, and improper waste disposal. Through education, example, and ongoing efforts within our community, we promote environmental awareness and responsible diving.
Together, we can enjoy the ocean while preserving its beauty for generations to come.
Trash Hero Movement
- Weekly cleanups on Koh Chang every Wednesday.
- Reduction of single-use plastic through free bottle refill stations. In all BB shops, Cliff Cottage on Koh Chang and BB dorm in Koh Kood we offer the free refill water. There are many more participants for this initiative, you can find them on the trash hero map: TrashHero.Org
- Active participation in Trash Hero's initiatives for a green and clean Koh Chang.
Aware on Boat
- Eco-friendly practices on boats, including serving drinking water with ice in large tanks instead of individual bottles, to minimize plastic waste.
- Buffet-style lunch using plates to reduce styrofoam and plastic bag usage.
- Underwater cleanup dives every Saturday in Koh Kood, we offer a free extra clean up dive to the guests who have booked on that day.
Project Aware
- Involvement in Bang Bao village's "Clean and Green" committee.
- Annual underwater cleanup projects, involving staff, divemaster trainees, and guests.
- Coral watch diving trips in collaboration with Project Aware.
- Support for Dasta and National Park's cleanups.
Conservation Initiatives
- Active cooperation in planning and sinking the HTMS Chang artificial reef. Thus reducing pressure of tourism on excisting coral reefs
- Coral Watch dives to monitor and map reef health.
- Ocean Quest coral propagation program teaching responsible coral propagation.
Diving and Safety
BB Divers is committed to follow all PADI standards, safety being a priority on all dive and snorkeling trips. All instructors are first aid trained and safety equipment is on board. We have our TAT (Tourist Authority Thailand) license as a registered company following guidelines.
