The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an intensive and rewarding step in your diving journey. At BB Divers, we combine professional-level preparation with the laid-back charm of Thailand to offer a training environment where you’ll feel supported, challenged, and inspired.

Our focus goes beyond just passing the PADI Instructor Examination (IE)—we aim to create confident instructors ready to start teaching immediately, with a strong foundation in dive theory, student supervision, and course management.

Included:

• Full IDC training (online and/or on-site)

• Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) course

• Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor

• Nitrox Specialty instructor

🔹 Premium IDC Package – Standard IDC (incl EFRI a, Oxygen provider and Nitrox specialties) + 5 Specialty Instructor Courses

Upgrade to the Premium IDC for an even stronger start to your diving career.

In addition to the standard IDC + EFRI,  you will complete five PADI Specialty Instructor courses, including Enriched Air (Nitrox) and Emergency Oxygen Provider, plus three specialties of your choice (e.g., Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy).

These added qualifications show future employers that you’re versatile, experienced, and ready to offer a wider range of training to new and experienced divers alike.

Once you’ve certified 25 divers, you’ll qualify as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)—a highly respected level in the diving industry.

🗓️ IDC Course Format

We offer two flexible training formats:

• Full IDC in Koh Chang (14 days on-site)

• Flexible IDC: Start with eLearning and virtual workshops from home, then join us in Koh Chang for in-water training (perfect for working professionals)

✅ Course Structure Overview

1. Theory Preparation (before arrival)
Complete your IDC eLearning covering topics like teaching skills, risk management, and course scheduling.

2. Online or In-Person Workshops
8 days of interactive theory sessions with your Course Director, including peer teaching and dive theory reviews.

3. In-Water Training (8 days)
Confined and open water sessions to develop your teaching techniques, rescue skills, and problem-solving ability. Practice DSD (Discover Scuba Dive) scenarios, deep dives, and more.

4. EFR Instructor Training (2 days)
Learn how to teach first aid and CPR through PADI’s Emergency First Response program.

5. PADI Instructor Examination (IE)
Held regularly in Koh Chang, Bangkok, or Pattaya, this 2-day evaluation is your final step to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

📋 Requirements to Start the IDC

• Certified PADI Divemaster (or equivalent)

• At least 18 years old

• Certified diver for 6+ months

• Minimum of 100 logged dives before the Instructor Examination

• Valid EFR certification within the last 24 months

• Medical clearance for diving (signed by a physician within 12 months)

Each candidate must have a complete set of scuba gear, including:

• BCD

• Regulator with alternate air source

• Wetsuit

• Mask, snorkel, fins

• Dive computer

• Compass, dive knife, SMB, reel

• Dive torch
