Snorkeling sites

At BB Divers, our boats regularly head out to some of the best snorkeling and diving locations around Koh Chang, Koh Rang National Park, and nearby islands. These sites are chosen for their vibrant coral reefs, marine diversity, and overall beauty—perfect for both beginners and experienced ocean lovers.

1. Koh Rang National Park – Snorkeling Paradise

The Koh Rang National Marine Park is a protected area where fishing is prohibited, allowing its reefs and marine life to thrive. It’s a favorite destination for snorkelers due to the crystal-clear waters, healthy coral gardens, and abundance of fish. Most trips include a stop at a nearby beach for a swim or siesta.

🔹 Koh Thien West

Once damaged, this reef has made an impressive recovery. The southern side boasts Thailand’s largest formation of stag horn coral, now teeming with colorful fish—a stunning spot for snorkelers.

🔹 Hin Kuak Ma (Three Finger Reef)

A rock reef rather than an island, with a rich mix of coral and marine life. The southern rock wall is great for spotting eels, nudibranchs, and stonefish, while the back slope is alive with fish. Occasional sightings of bamboo sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, and turtles make this a gem on calm days.

🔹 Koh Yak & Koh Laun

Two small islands surrounded by beautiful, circular coral reefs. Popular among snorkelers, both are easy to explore with full perimeter snorkeling.

🔹 Koh Tong Lang & Koh Kra

Known for their unique rock formations and distinct reef color, these islands feature healthy corals, including large table corals, stag horn, and vibrant anemones—excellent for snorkelers of all levels.

2. Koh Chang Snorkeling & Dive Sites

🔹 HTMS Chang Wreck

Sunk in 2012, this massive wreck is now an artificial reef buzzing with life. Although better suited for diving, experienced snorkelers enjoy exploring the upper sections, where schools of fish are abundant.

We usually pair this with two excellent coral sites nearby:

🔹 Hin Luk Bath

A favorite for both snorkelers and divers. A rock pinnacle with shoaling fish, coral from a few meters down to 20 meters, and frequent marine sightings—perfect for multi-level exploration.

🔹 Hin Raab South (Hin Laab)

This site offers clear water and a rich coral landscape. Look out for turtles, batfish, porcupine fish, stingrays, and even whale sharks! A favorite for soft coral and biodiversity.

🔹 Hin Tai Nam (Blueberry Hill)

Close to Hin Raab, this fish-filled rock has a lovely coral garden on its southern side.

🔹 Hin Rua Tek (Banana Rock)

Although visited less frequently due to visibility, this site features table corals, sponges, gorgonians, and great nooks for spotting lobsters, nudibranchs, and other small critters—fantastic on a clear day.

3. Other Snorkeling Spots

🔹 Koh Wai, Koh Khlum, Koh Lao Ya & Koh Ngam

Located south of Koh Chang, these tropical islands are great for half-day snorkeling trips. While the coral reefs here are shallower and less colorful than in Koh Rang, the white beaches and turquoise lagoons make these islands a perfect combo of relaxation and exploration.
