Snorkeling Koh Kood is the perfect way to enjoy the island’s crystal-clear waters, shallow coral reefs, and abundant marine life. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned snorkeler, BB Divers offers daily trips to the most stunning reef sites around Koh Kood and nearby Koh Rang National Park.
Where We Go
Our snorkel boats usually head to two main areas:
🌿 Koh Kood Local Sites
Known for their shallow depth and vibrant coral, the local reefs around Koh Kood are easy to access and offer excellent visibility—especially during the high season. These sites are close to shore, making for a fun and relaxing day out with an early return.
🌊 Koh Rang National Park
A protected marine sanctuary where fishing is not allowed. Koh Rang boasts some of the healthiest coral reefs in the region, along with incredible biodiversity. We often stop near a beach, where you can relax or snorkel from shore.
On calm days, we may also include a special trip to HTMS Chang Wreck and nearby coral sites around Koh Chang—great for snorkelers when the sea conditions allow.

West Coast Snorkeling Spots
Tui Reef (Ao Phuk Waeng): A rocky reef with schools of fish and great coral variety.
Koh Maisi: Home to stonefish, eels, nudibranchs, and stingrays among dramatic boulders.
Soneva Reef: Twin coral reefs teeming with angelfish, turtles, bannerfish, and groupers.
Koh Raet: Features statues at 4m depth, surrounded by coral and reef fish—a snorkeler’s favorite!
Hin Yedhi: A rocky reef rich in parrotfish, jackfish, lionfish, and nudibranchs.
Ao Tum: A coral garden with table corals, staghorn coral, and sightings of turtles, cobia, and barracuda.
Bang Bao Reef: Calm waters ideal for snorkeling and Discover Scuba Dives; sometimes even seahorses appear!
East Coast Snorkeling (Green Season Only)
When the west is too wavy during low season, we explore the east—accessible only by boat, and full of natural charm.
Hin Ao Salad: Near Ao Salad Bay, home to bannerfish, anemone fish, and rare giant sea stars.
Ao Yai Koet: A boulder-strewn reef with panda clownfish, sweetlips, flounders, and scorpionfish.
Ao Kluai: Barracuda, fusiliers, turtles, and—if you’re lucky—seahorses hiding in shells.
Hin Ao Yai: A small pinnacle teeming with stingrays, scorpionfish, and groupers.
Ao Karang: A large coral area rich in soft and hard corals, anemone fish, and cuttlefish.

Top Snorkeling Sites – Koh Rang & Koh Chang
In addition to the beautiful reefs around Koh Kood, our trips also explore Koh Rang National Park and Koh Chang—two of the best areas for both scuba diving and snorkeling in the Gulf of Thailand. These sites offer a mix of pinnacles, coral gardens, marine sanctuaries, and artificial reefs teeming with life.
Koh Rang National Park Sites
Protected and rich in biodiversity, Koh Rang National Park is a favorite among divers and snorkelers alike. Here are some of the top sites we visit:
🛕 Hin Gue Duang (The Pinnacle)
The deepest dive site in Koh Rang, this dramatic pinnacle resembles an underwater cathedral. Expect strong currents but big rewards—barracuda, groupers, batfish schools, porcupinefish, turtles, and more. Not much coral, but incredible for photography and multi-level diving.
🌿 Koh Thien West
Once damaged, this reef has made an inspiring comeback. On the south side, you’ll find the largest formation of staghorn coral in the area, creating shelter for a wide variety of reef fish. It’s one of the best snorkeling spots in the park.
🪸 Hin Kuak Ma (Three Finger Reef)
This is one of the most diverse dive sites in the area. The south side is a vertical wall, while the back is a gentle coral slope. Regular sightings include moray eels, nudibranchs, blue spotted stingrays, parrotfish, and even the occasional bamboo shark or turtle.
🏝️ Koh Yak & Koh Laun
Two small islands surrounded by shallow coral reefs—ideal for snorkelers and beginner divers. Rich in coral life and small reef fish, both islands are shallow enough to enjoy long, relaxed dives or snorkeling sessions.
🪨 Koh Tong Lang & Koh Kra
These scenic islets feature colorful rock formations, big table corals, staghorn coral, and vibrant anemones. The crevices attract plenty of marine life, making them great for both snorkeling and photography.
⚓ Koh Chang Snorkel Sites
We occasionally offer longer trips to Koh Chang—mainly in high season, about once or twice a week. These trips include the iconic HTMS Chang wreck and a selection of vibrant coral sites nearby.
🚢 HTMS Chang Shipwreck
Sunk in 2012, this is now the largest shipwreck in Thailand and an incredible artificial reef. While it’s not a traditional snorkeling site, experienced snorkelers will love the volume of marine life circling the shallower areas of the wreck. We always combine this visit with nearby coral sites.
🌊 Hin Luk Bath
A rock pinnacle ringed by healthy coral and full of schooling fish. With coral life starting just a few meters below the surface, this site is great for both snorkelers and divers.
🐡 Hin Raab South (Hin Laab)
A favorite for its clear water and wide spread of coral over sand and rock. Expect to see stingrays, porcupinefish, morays, stonefish, batfish, and even the rare whale shark! Known for its soft coral and occasional large pelagic sightings.
🫐 Hin Tai Nam (Blueberry Hill)
Located near Hin Raab, this small rock is surrounded by fish and features a pretty coral garden on its southern side.
🍌 Hin Rua Tek (Banana Rock)
A rocky site with crevices and overhangs, home to shrimp, lobsters, and nudibranchs. Big table corals, gorgonians, sponges, and soft coral cover the area. We visit this site less frequently due to varying visibility, but on a clear day, it’s stunning.

Join us for a day trip to Koh Rang National Park, and at the end of the excursion, you can switch boats—either continuing to Koh Kood or Koh Chang. It’s a perfect way to make the most of your travel day while enjoying one of the region’s top marine parks.
